Lhasa, Tibet
March 2001

Five physicians from Medicine International traveled to Lhasa, Tibet, to participate in a first-ever medical conference held in the Tibetan capital. Dr. Stinson provided presentations on Complex Humanitarian Disaster Relief.
Medications and equipment were also brought into the country to support the work of the Tibetan Child Nutrition Project. Medicines were delivered from donors in the U.S. to a group of Tibetan physicians practicing traditional medicine in Lhasa. MI physicians transported 20 kilos of Tibetan herbs and medicines back to the U.S. and delivered them to Tibetan doctors practicing the U.S.

In the spirit of adventure, several members of the group was launched a high altitude kayak expedition at 16,5000 feet.
