Career Achievements

Hospital Information Technology Head & Y2K: As the head of an independent hospital information technology department, I assembled a forty-five person interdisciplinary team to implement a Y2K enterprise-wide remediation program covering 1500 nodes and 2000 users. Through my efficient project management, we spent less than three million of an eight million dollar projected budget. Result: five million dollars savings to the organization.

Strategic/Operational Planning: During the Y2K program, led a business continuity review that examined every department's functionality and business partnerís relevance to the hospital's readiness. Result: the organization responded with numerous operational enhancements leading to improved patient care and better management of its partner relationships saving time and money.

Biotech & Medical Research: Provided I.T. consultation for relocating the hospital's 150-person biotech/medical research institute into a new facility, including preliminary design recommendations, construction contracts/vendor management, and ongoing technical support.

Network Operations Development: Converted a mainframe/terminal architecture facility with 1600 users into a gigabit Ethernet PC-based client/server model with minimal downtime. Required a major upgrade to the networkís backbone and coordination of a training program to educate new PC users.

Founder Startup: As the founder of a multimedia start-up, directed the hiring, marketing, product development, operations, and ingrained a strong customer service ethic throughout this firm.

International Expertise: As a Foreign Service Officer in the U.S. Diplomatic Corps, I provided operational & technical expertise to senior U.S. officials worldwide. I supervised staffs of hundreds and managed budgets of more than fifteen million dollars during the collection and analysis of information that was disseminated throughout the U.S Government.
